About

Monty 3.2913I grew up on the plains of Oklahoma and graduated in 1990 with an art degree from Oklahoma University. While in college I was involved with Campus Crusade for Christ, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity and the OU Men’s Gymnastics Team. After college, I married Kimberly and moved to Little Rock, AR to serve with FamilyLife. Five years later, sensing a growing passion for pastoral ministry, our family relocated to Dallas, TX allowing me to study at Dallas Theological Seminary.

In addition to attending classes, I served as the Couples Coordinator for the DTS Spiritual Formation Program. After completing a ThM in 2000, we moved again – now with four children – to Murfreesboro, TN to plant Fellowship Bible Church of Rutherford County. I currently serve as a teaching pastor and elder alongside a phenomenal staff and an incredible community of faith.

I enjoy writing, sports of all kinds, a wide assortment of music, a great cup of coffee and just about any flavor of ice cream known to man. Most importantly, I am a broken yet hopeful man who believes that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life.
